For hundreds of years, women of West Africa – particularly in Nigeria and Ghana – made and used a vegetable-based soap to gently cleanse skin and hair. Known as African black soap to the West, locally it is called alata simena, sabulun salo, ose dudu, and anago soap.
Ingredients
¼ black soap
1 Table spoon coconut oil
2 Table spoon honey
2 Table spoon almond oil
1 Table spoon turmeric powder
METHOD
Get a molter pieces your soap inside and pound very well, then pour in your coconut oil.
Add honey
Add almond oil
Add shea butter and pound again very well to mix and smooth and pour into your container, then add glycerin.
